OBC 2016 Blog Series
As we say goodbye to 2015, it's easy to forget all the great things that happened with craft beer nationally and in Ohio. Nationally, the number of breweries reached an all-time high of 4,144 at the end of November surpassing the previous record set in 1873. In Ohio alone, the number of breweries in operation now exceeds well over 100 with many more breweries in planning.
2015 was also a good year for Ohio Beer Counsel. We are humbled and appreciative of the support our clients and friends in Ohio's craft beer community continue to show us. We are proud to be the presenting sponsor for the Ohio Craft Brewers Association's Craft Brewers Conference in Dayton on February 3-4, 2016. Our goal has always been, and will remain, to provide quality legal services to Ohio's craft breweries and distilleries in an affordable manner, custom tailored to meet your individual needs.
We also strive to provide the craft brewery and distillery community with information, insight (and hopefully some enjoyment) about issues, legal and otherwise, relevant to planning, opening and operating a brewery or distillery in Ohio. We hope to do this even better in 2016.
In addition to our normal blog posts on issues that arise throughout the year, we intend to roll out more in-depth articles on a particular topic throughout each quarter. We will cover the following series in 2016:
- 1st Quarter - Not So Obvious Operations and Legalities of Running a Brewery/Distillery
- 2nd Quarter - What to Do Before You Apply for Permits
- 3rd Quarter - Safety/OSHA
- 4th Quarter - Record Keeping and Reporting to the TTB
We hope you'll continue to find our view on things informative, educational and enjoyable. If you have feedback or ideas on other topics, please let us know. Here's to 2016 and another banner year for Ohio Craft Beer!
